Titahi Bay North School is a great place to learn, work, visit and be a part of. We may have the attributes you are looking for in a school for your child. Read on and discover some of what we have to offer. All our staff are absolutely dedicated to providing our children with a sound education to support career choices as our children develop into young adults and citizens of the world. We continue to build on an environment that is truly multi cultural – our children and staff reflect the ethnic richness of our community, and we treasure the values that all cultures bring to our school.

Titahi Bay North School

Titahi Bay North School is a full primary school (new entrants to year 8), serving the Titahi Bay community. We are a medium-sized school with around 180 students. We have 9 classrooms, a library, 11 teachers and 10 support staff. We also have a total immersion Maori unit, Te Whanau o te Kakano. Like all schools we have a comprehensive curriculum in place to ensure your child is learning to the best of their ability. We have computers in all our classrooms to support teaching. We have processes in place to identify children who require an individual learning programme, and programmes to extend children beyond the curriculum where an aptitude for a subject is shown. Our senior students (years 7 and 8) attend Technology classes at Titahi Bay Intermediate School. These include computing, woodwork and cooking. We also have partnerships with local businesses t hat enhance our childrens learning experience. We also have netball and miniball sports teams who compete within the local community. Many of our children are involved in sports and are members of our community clubs - athletics, rugby, tennis, golf, taekwondo.

Our classrooms have been upgraded recently, along with our staffroom. We are very proud of our hall and swimming pool. We have sound systems in all our classes whereby our children can hear the teacher clearly wherever they sit in class. We also have an ‘After School Care’ programme on-site that is Child Youth and Family approved. Titahi Bay North School is also a “Sunsmart” accredited school. We were awarded the Bronze Star award in 2007 by the NZ Heart Foundation for promoting healthy eating and lifestyle. We are also a Smoke Free school.
